Business travel is one of five key areas in which the company is working to limit carbon emissions. It advises its companies and employees to use enhanced booking tools to choose the lowest-emissions travel itinerary and form of travel whenever possible, and to use videoconferencing where appropriate, and works with Tripkicks to influence traveler behavior.
In December 2024, it was announced that IPG would merge with fellow media company Omnicom and in doing so create the largest advertising agency in the world.
