The U.S. General Services Administration announced plans to
install telepresence systems in 11 regional headquarters offices.
Aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the centers
would be operational in early 2011 for use by all federal agencies, according
to GSA.
AT&T will develop and manage the virtual network for an
estimated $18 million while Cisco will provide the telepresence equipment,
according to an official.
