United Airlines raised domestic checked baggage fees to $25 for the first item and $35 for the second, matching Delta and Continental.
All three airlines offer discounts for pre-paying online. The new fees apply to economy class travel within, to and from the United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada and Puerto Rico.
