US Airways matched its competitors in planning to levy a $3.50 per-segment fee
for net bookings in non-preferred channels. Preferred channels include opt-in programs from Galileo, Sabre and Worldspan, as well as Amadeus and G2 SwitchWorks products. The airline indicated it would eventually have a preferred arrangement with ITA Software, also. The fees would take effect Sept. 1, generally for bookings made in the United States and the Caribbean.
