UAL Corp. posted a third-quarter net loss of $779 million
United Airlines parent compared with a net profit of $334 million a year earlier. Excluding a $519 non-cash loss on its fuel hedge contracts, the company's operating loss was $150 million versus operating income of $592 million in the third quarter of 2007.
