U.S. travel agency air transactions processed through ARC in December decreased 4.6 percent year over year,
the 11th consecutive month of
declining volume. The drop was the largest since July. Total agency sales,
however, increased by 3.9 percent. For full-year 2011, ARC-processed
transactions dropped 2.1 percent from 2010 and passenger segments fell 2.9
percent but ticket sales totaled a record $82.1 billion, up 6.1 percent.
