U.S. airline industry improved overall punctuality in September
According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, the , managing an 81.7 percent on-time arrival rate, ahead of August's 71.7 percent and September 2006's 76.2 percent. Frontier Airlines performed best among 11 major U.S. carriers with an 88.4 percent on-time arrival rate, followed by Continental Airlines (88.0 percent) and JetBlue Airways (85.7 percent). Alaska Airlines posted the worst performance, at 73.3 percent.
