The U.S. airline industry in November improved its punctuality and baggage handling performance
compared to both October 2007 and November 2006, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation. On aggregate, carriers operated eight in 10 flights on or close to schedule. Delta Air Lines had the best on-time rate among 11 major carriers (85.6 percent), followed by Frontier Airlines and Southwest Airlines (both at 84.5 percent). United Airlines (75.5 percent) posted the worst performance.
