Star Alliance partners Air China and US Airways on 25 June will begin sharing codes
. Cooperative services include Air China flights between Beijing and Los Angeles, New York JFK and San Francisco, and connecting service between Beijing and Shanghai, and US Airways flights from Los Angeles and San Francisco to Charlotte, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Pittsburgh. US Airways in May asked the U.S. Department of Transportation for permission to delay by one year--until March 2010--the launch of nonstop Philadelphia-Beijing flights, saying "short term economic conditions could make it difficult to successfully institute service."
