Eos Airlines ceased operations

All-premium carrier after becoming the fifth U.S. commercial carrier this month to file for bankruptcy. CEO Jack Williams blamed "external forces" for knocking out the carrier, "just as we were working toward closing on an investment that would have carried us to corporate profitability in 2009." Eos' failure follows that of fellow all-premium, transatlantic start-up Maxjet Airways.
