Delta Air Lines will invest $450 million in a 3.55 percent stake in China Eastern Airlines
as part of an expanded partnership agreement, the carriers announced Monday. China Eastern also plans to add new routes and increase frequencies in North America. The two carriers, including China Eastern subsidiary Shanghai Airlines, codeshare on 43 domestic routes in China and 30 domestic routes in the United States. Delta’s investment requires approval from both carriers’ boards of directors.
