Delta Air Lines reported a second-quarter net loss of $1 billion
, largely due to $1.2 billion in special charges. Excluding all one-time items, the company posted net income of $137 million "despite a more than $1 billion year-over-year increase in fuel" expenses. Passenger revenue for the quarter rose 6 percent to $4.8 billion.
