Delta Air Lines reported a first-quarter net loss of $794 million
and a nearly "breakeven" result when excluding fuel hedge losses and other items. Passenger revenue dropped 18 percent year over year "due to the global economic recession" and a 6 percent capacity reduction. "Corporate travel trends continue to be soft but the pace of decline in business yields and bookings has definitely slowed," said president Edward Bastian. Overall, "while we have seen signs of stabilization in revenue trends, at the same time, we haven't seen any indications of improvement."
