Delta Air Lines plans to cut transpacific capacity by 3 percent
, president Ed Bastian said during a Bank of America Merrill Lynch transportation conference. "Our Pacific capacity has been up over the course of the past year-and-a-half double digits, so this is a fairly significant change in trajectory from where we had been," he said. "Japan is obviously the key driver of that, as we gauge the recovery that we're seeing in the Japanese market." Delta's total post-Labor Day capacity will be down 4 percent year over year.
