Bankrupt Delta Air Lines posted a January net loss of $109 million
, compared with a net loss of $300 million in Jan. 2006. The results "were in line with our plan, for what is typically Delta's slowest travel month," said CFO Edward Bastian. "We remain on track to emerge from bankruptcy as a strong, healthy and independent global carrier this spring.'' Bankrupt Northwest, which also is preparing to complete Chapter 11 proceedings in the coming months, lost $349 million in January including $291 million in reorganization items, according to Reuters.
