Avis Budget Group reported first quarter net income of $13 million
, compared with $70 million a year earlier. Domestic car rental revenue increased 4 percent to nearly $1.1 billion while international car rental revenue increased 10 percent to $191 million. The company cited a 3 percent increase in pricing--covering both commercial and leisure rentals--"despite continued competitive pressures with respect to commercial pricing." Avis Budget predicted continued rental pricing increases of 3 to 4 percent for the remainder of 2007.
