Avis Budget Group Inc. reported second-quarter net income of $24 million
. Total revenue increased 4 percent to "a record" $1.5 billion despite "a challenging competitive retail and commercial pricing environment," the company said. According to CEO Ronald Nelson, "We continue to expect second half 2007 results to be considerably stronger than first half results."
