American Airlines increased to 12 hours the window in which passengers can confirm flight changes
on the day of departure. The option, which costs $25 and allows passengers to switch to an earlier or later flight, previously had a three-hour window. Northwest Airlines in April extended a similar policy to include the entire day of departure.
