Winit: Women in Travel will launch its Central Career Board in May as part of its career mobility initiative,
Winit organizers announced this week during a joint event with the Association of Corporate Travel Executives in Atlanta. Winit members already can post job openings and resumes, but the new resource will connect members “with their next adventure,” founder Michelle Lee said. The organization also expanded its mission statement to include women in “events, meetings and exhibitions [because] our members cover all those industries,” she explained. In the fourth quarter, Winit plans to launch a mentorship program, following a pilot program that began in November, said director of program management and mentor program facilitator Dawn Repoli. Winit has 1,644 members, according to LinkedIn, and hopes to reach 2,000 by year-end. Lee said goals for 2016 include going global, recruiting college graduates and possibly offering scholarships, “but we have to be very selective so we’re not trying to do too much too soon,” she said.
