U.S. travel agency air transactions processed through ARC in January 2012 increased 3.2 percent year over year, the first month of rising volume since January 2011.

Total sales jumped 10.7 percent to just under $7.3 billion, the largest increase in any month since February 2011. Domestic sales rose 10.9 percent year over year to more than $3.1 billion, outpacing the 3.6 percent increase in international sales. International transaction volume (up 5 percent), however, grew more quickly than domestic volume (up 2.5 percent).
