The board of directors of Accor SA unanimously approved a "demerger," separating the hospitality business from the prepaid services division
. The French company's hotel business spans 4,000 hotels in 13 brands, including Motel 6, Novotel and Sofitel. The demerger will allow Accor's two divisions "to step up their pace of growth," according to a company statement.
