The US House of Representatives Subcommittee on Transportation Security and Infrastructure Protection approved by voice vote an amendment in the proposed Transportation Security Administration Authorization Act that calls for a re-examination of the Registered Traveler program

. TSA last summer essentially deemed the program a front-of-the-line benefit for paying members, with the potential to provide a legitimate passenger identification process. The amendment would require TSA "to consider the Registered Traveler program's role in a risk-based aviation security program."
