The Boeing Company pulled the plug on its money-losing, in-flight Internet service
, Connexion by Boeing. Once estimated to be a $25 billion business, in-flight Internet failed to entice enough passengers to pay its $10 to $27 price. Boeing last year said it had 500 corporate accounts and had installed the service on 140 planes operated by ANA, China Airlines, El Al, Japan Airlines, Korean, Lufthansa, SAS and Singapore. Boeing will take a charge of up to $320 million by year-end, with $290 million in the third-quarter, to shut down the unit.
