Fourth-quarter 2013 air transactions handled by members of the U.K.'s Guild of Travel Management Companies rose 4 percent from the prior-year period.
Hotel transactions increased 15 percent while rail and car rental activity rose 7 percent and 5 percent, respectively. For full-year 2013, air transactions climbed 3 percent from 2012, while hotel was up 12 percent, rail 5 percent and car rental 8 percent. GTMC claims its membership accounts for more than 80 percent of the United Kingdom's managed business travel expenditures.
