EDS plans to replace most inter-office travel in Australia and New Zealand with videoconferencing
, saving an expected 1,000 tons of carbon emissions annually and reduceing domestic flights by up to 30 percent. The company intends to cut carbon emissions in the region by 25 percent over the next three years and is working with Energetics to calculate its carbon footprint, including emissions caused by business travel. A spokesperson said no similar program is yet underway in North America.
