Domestic fares rose 7.4 percent in March compared with a year earlier, but were far outpaced by the 69.4 percent surge in fuel prices
, according to the Air Transport Association. Fares to the Pacific rose 8.5 percent in March, 12.6 percent in February and 10.6 percent in January. Across the Atlantic, fares rose 4.8 percent in March, 6.5 percent in February and 10.6 percent in January. The Latin yield rose 5.1 percent in March, 2.7 percent in February and 5.8 percent in January. Fuel prices increased 53.8 percent in February and 53.5 percent in January.
