Deloitte's HotelBenchmark data reported double-digit growth in 2006 revenue per available room

, led by a 16.5 percent rise in the Middle East, 13 percent in Central and South America, 12 percent in Europe and 11 percent in Asia. Average room rates last year rose 17.8 percent to $142 in the Middle East, 12.3 percent to $122 in Central and South America, 10.9 percent to $122 in Asia and 8.7 percent to $146 in Europe. Deloitte expects the rate of growth to slow in 2007.
