British Airways confirmed it has approached a number of private equity companies about making a consortium offer for Iberia
, the Spanish airline in which it already holds a 10 percent stake. BA said it would not contribute "further capital investment" as part of any consortium bid, and "has ruled out an independent bid" for Iberia, a partner in the Oneworld alliance.
