Air, hotel and ground transactions processed by Carlson Wagonlit Travel's wholly owned operations and joint ventures this year through June rose 13.2 percent to 29.4 million
. Sales volume totaled $12.3 billion, up 16.6 percent "at current exchange rates," the company announced. Sales volume in Latin America grew 48.1 percent, in Asia-Pacific 43.5 percent, in North America 18.2 percent and in Europe, Middle East and Africa 7.7 percent. CWT identified $781 million in new sales during the period, excluding renewals, but declined to disclose net new sales. Comparing the results to the same period in 2008, CWT president and chief executive officer Douglas Anderson stated, "Traffic has not yet returned to pre-recessionary levels."
