Hertz has "been successful in raising commercial contract pricing ... between 2.5 and 3 percent"
this year, according to CEO Craig Koch. The car rental company said full-year 2005 airport market share was just above 29 percent, "a nine percentage-point gap with the next largest competitive brand." Koch added that U.S. airport demand had "somewhat moderated due to reduced airline capacity and resultant rise to airfares, coupled with our actions to increase pricing," but that an expected "low-to-mid single-digit increase in overall airline traffic" this summer should help Hertz's business.
