Certify has launched a mobile feature that notifies travelers in real time if expenses fall outside policy.

The feature, coined Certify Mobile Instant Policy Check, compares expenses, whether input via photographed receipts or entered manually, against a company’s travel and expense policy. It reviews such categories as cash, mileage, lodging, meals, rental cars and per diem rates and calculates expense maximums using “category logic” like dividing a total hotel expenditure by the number of room nights or a meal by the number of attendees. A user will see a green check mark if the expense meets policy and a red exclamation mark and an explanation of in violation. The feature is available with the latest version of Certify’s mobile app.
