Etihad To Appeal Air Berlin Codeshare Ruling
A German court on Wednesday ruled against codesharing
agreements for Etihad Airways on 31 Air Berlin routes, saying they are not
covered by air traffic agreements between Germany and the United Arab Emirates.
The ruling affects codesharing on the routes between Jan. 16 to March 26.
Etihad, which owns a 29 percent stake in Air Berlin, plans to appeal the
ruling, the carrier announced today. Previously purchased tickets on the routes
will continue to be honored, according to Etihad, and the two carriers will continue
to codeshare on more than 50 other approved routes.
