Meeting Professionals International acquired the Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certificate program from the International Medical Meeting Professionals Association,
the association announced. The certificate program, launched in 2013 and accredited through Saint Louis University, offers education to meeting professionals about compliance to regulations and laws concerning medical meetings, and teaches strategy for managing healthcare events. MPI has extended the course length from three to four hours, and participants now will earn 0.4 clock hours upon completion of each class, compared with the previous 0.3 clock hours. The organization will offer HMCC sessions during industry conferences, at Saint Louis University and via private sessions for organizations. Pat Schaumann, founder of IMMPA and principal instructor of the HMCC program, has been named the program's new director of professional development, healthcare sector.
