Travel management company AmTrav is giving its corporate travel manager clients a new weapon in the battle against out-of-channel bookings, partnering with technology provider Traxo to capture bookings made on supplier websites or third-party online booking tools.
Traxo's Capture email parsing tool will connect
to AmTrav, enabling travelers to forward their email confirmations so their
bookings then receive the same tracking, support, duty of care and reporting services
as bookings made through a2b, AmTrav said.
The Capture system uses email parsing technology that can support more than 8,000 unique formats for travel confirmation emails in nearly 40 languages, covering more than 1,000 major booking sources for air, lodging, car rental and rail bookings. AmTrav will offer the service only for hotel bookings initially but plans to extend to flight and car rentals soon, the company said.
As out-off-channel bookings remain a thorn in the sides of corporate travel managers, products designed to combat the problem have trickle into the market. Another such tool, Concur's TripLink, recently went live with its American Airlines integration, enabling bookings made through American's website to populate to Concur accounts using frequent-flyer numbers as the link.
