U.K. hotel rates during the first quarter of 2011 increased by 4.1 percent year over year, although occupancy dropped by 0.3 percent to 63.6 percent
, according to STR Global. Rates in London increased by 9.2 percent despite a 1.7 percent decrease in occupancy. Rates declined in several other U.K. cities, including Plymouth, Liverpool and Bradford.
