Second-quarter 2011 average daily rates at Wyndham Worldwide Corp. hotels increased by 3.8 percent year over year
. In particular, rates increased at the upscale Wyndham brand and the midprice Wingate and Ramada brands, but decreased slightly at some of the company's economy brands. Overall company hotel occupancy increased by 2.8 percentage points to 53 percent. Revenue per available room was up 9.7 percent, though that was boosted by Wyndham's acquisition of the Tryp brand last year. The 94 Tryp hotels operated at the highest occupancy of any major Wyndham brand during the quarter, averaging 66.6 percent. Wyndham Worldwide's net income for the quarter was $108 million, up from $95 million in the second quarter of 2010.
