InterContinental Hotels Group reported an operating profit of $149 million for the first half of 2009--a 40 percent decline
from $249 million last year. Average daily rates worldwide declined 6.5 percent to $103.49, occupancy dropped 6.8 percent to 58.4 percent and revenue per available room decreased 16.2 percent to $60.44 in the first half.
