Choice Hotels International reported first quarter net income of $15.8 million, down 3 percent from $16.3 million in 2009
. For the quarter, domestic hotel average daily rate declined 5 percent to $65 from $68.39 in 2009 and occupancy dropped 230 base percentage points to 40 percent from 42 percent year over year. Revenue per available room is expected to decline 2 percent during the second quarter 2010, and full-year 2010 RevPar is predicted to decline between 1 percent to 3 percent.
