Average hotel rates in many key cities dropped significantly during January and February

versus a year earlier, according to Hogg Robinson Group. The largest decreases as measured in local currencies included Mumbai (26 percent) Dubai (24 percent); Dublin, New Delhi and Zurich (each 21 percent); Milan (18 percent); New York (16 percent); Amsterdam (15 percent); and Tokyo (14 percent). Abu Dhabi bucked the trend, with average rates rising 19 percent year over year.
