Barclaycard Global Commercial Payments announced that all newly issued corporate cards "will be enabled to make contactless transactions."

According to the company, the new cards will be the first contactless option for corporations available in the United Kingdom and "will give businesses of all sizes greater control to track smaller transactions which are currently made using cash." They will allow cardholders to pay for goods and services of £15 or under by holding the cards over a reader without entering PIN numbers or signing to authorize transactions. Barclaycard since 2007 claims to have deployed contactless terminals in more than 55,000 retail locations and issued 14 million contactless debit and consumer credit cards.
