Bank of China plans to issue American Express credit cards in China
as part of a strategic partnership between the two companies. The
co-branded cards will be issued to Bank of China private bank customers and
include such services as VIP banking, concierge, overseas relocation, health
care and wellness, as well as dual-currency functionality in U.S. dollars,
fast-track service through immigration and security at select airports,
unlimited access to major airport lounges, hotel benefits through the American
Express Entre program and access to premium golf courses. The card has an annual fee of RMB8,800 (US$1,400).
