Expedia has agreed to acquire a majority stake in rail distribution
platform SilverRail Technologies. Pending regulatory approval, the deal will
close in the middle of this year. SilverRail distributes content for 35
providers worldwide and handles 25 million bookings per year, including those
from more than 1,500 corporate customers. It operates primarily in Europe but
also with Amtrak in the U.S.; in Canada; and in Asia/Pacific.
