MPI announced. Calling him a "tremendous visionary," MPI
chairman Sebastien Tondeur during a Monday press conference said the decision
to leave was MacMillan's. MPI COO Cindy D'Aoust, who
joined the association in April, will serve as interim chief staff executive. Tondeur said he would by
the end of this week appoint a search committee for a permanent CEO. That
committee will be chaired by Associated Luxury Hotels International executive
vice president Kevin Hinton, who next month will succeed Tondeur as MPI
chairman for a one-year term. MacMillan in 2006
joined MPI from Tourism Toronto, where he was president and CEO."It's a great time to take a look
around at the industry—I don't plan on leaving the industry—and see where my
next opportunity is," MacMillan said.
