Payment & Expense
Citi now offers mobile alerts to commercial card customers in the United States, Columbia, India and Singapore,
the company said.
Cardholders and program administrators in those countries can sign up to
receive mobile text alerts when statements are ready to be viewed and when
payments are due, past-due or received. Citi said it soon plans to test four
additional alert types about credit limits and transactions for U.S.
cardholders and expand all mobile functionality to Europe, the Middle East,
Africa and Asia. As part of its mobile initiatives, Citi last month introduced
to its Global Transaction Services customers the ability to use mobile phones
to release payments and check account balances and transactions. "We have
more than exceeded our goal in terms of usage and global reach, with over half
a billion dollars in transactions processed and functionality now available to
over 10,000 clients and 50,000 users worldwide," Citi North America
Treasury & Trade Solutions business head Amol Gupte said of the latter
functionality, called CitiDirect BE Mobile.
