British Airways on 2 May will raise its fuel surcharge
on long-haul flights of less than nine hours to £33 from £30 each way and on flights of longer than nine hours to £38 from £35 each way. The short-haul fuel surcharge remains at £8 each way. "Fuel continues to be our second largest cost and we expect our fuel bill for the year 2007/2008 to be more than £2 billion," according to BA commercial director Robert Boyle.
