Travelport announced chief marketing officer Gillian Gibson's departure at year-end and a reorganized "commercial function."
Chief commercial officer Kurt Ekert will lead the new commercial structure, which according to Travelport will incorporate marketing and product teams and "aims to provide a highly customer-centric approach." Internal appointments to take effect Nov. 1 include Bryan Conway to chief marketing officer; Derek Sharp to group vice president and managing director of global distribution sales and services, responsible for "partnerships with travel content providers"; Mark Harris to group vice president for commercial operations and deployments, responsible for "customer service and product deployment globally"; Jason Clarke to group vice president and managing director of global sales, spearheading efforts with travel management companies, online travel agencies and leisure travel agencies; and Simon Nowroz to group vice president of business development, with a focus on such "key growth countries" as Brazil, China, India and Japan. Nowroz until year-end also will maintain a leadership role for Asia/Pacific before handing those responsibilities to a "soon-to-be-announced" managing director for that region. Gibson "will leave to pursue opportunities elsewhere," according to Travelport.
