Swedish rail operator SJ extended its content agreement with Amadeus,
the global distribution system operator announced. The agreement "for the first time" brings SJ rail content to "offline and online travel agency channels using Agent Track and Web Services Track," and maintains the rail operator's content already available through Amadeus' corporate booking tool, according to Amadeus. "This is the first major integration of Scandinavian content and follows similar agreements with other major European railway providers," according to Amadeus. "For travel agents, this means they will have the option to book other high-speed rail providers alongside SJ content, making rail a genuine alternative to flying on some routes." The new agreement "will be delivered in a phased approach," launching with an unnamed TMC "at the beginning of 2013."
