Sabre announced a program to identify hotels' environmental credentials.

More than 4,700 certified properties will be "clearly distinguished in Sabre's global distribution system" and accessible via the Sabre Red Workspace agency desktop, according to the company. Also, corporate and agency customers using Sabre's hotel RFP tool can "specify eco-certified hotels." Sabre said it would only identify hotels as certified after they undergo "a third-party audit and are certified by a program aligning with criteria set by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council." The Sabre Eco-Certified Hotel Program follows the creation of Travelocity's Green Hotel Directory. Sabre also noted that Travelocity Business "designates eco-certified hotels to help agents and travelers shop and book participating hotels."
