Sabre Travel Network joined the Open Visual Communications Consortium,

"a group of global video exchange providers, network providers and equipment manufacturers that have united to expand video communications" by developing interoperability among systems, according to Sabre. The company is planning to launch "by mid-next year" the Sabre Virtual Meetings global reservation system that would allow users to find available public and private videoconferencing rooms, compare rates and features, and book. Sabre Virtual Meetings is being developed with virtual conferencing supplier Polycom, also an OVCC member.
