The Beat that Agility's fees would be
waived for current contracts, all but killing the program. Travelport's Smartpoint
and Go Translator graphical user interfaces would still come with a price,
according to
The Beat. Travel
agencies and their
membership groups slammed the program after its announcement
at the start of December. Agility originally was due to take effect Jan. 1. The
program bundles together certain functions that previously were free, others
that already had fees and new ones that Travelport claimed will increase
revenues or reduce costs.
